The Pincio, situated on the hill of the same name, offers direct access to Villa Borghese via the Viale delle magnolie (Magnolia avenue).
It is the most famous park in Rome, owing its present boundaries to the architect Valadier (1800).
The terrazza del piazzale (esplanade terrace) overlooks the Piazza del Popolo, with a fabulous panorama which encompasses Monte Mario (to the right of the observatory), the Vatican, the Gianicolo, as well as the Vittoriano monument and Quirinale hill.
