This church was built between 1642 and 1660, in the ancient courtyard of the Università la Sapienza (University of Knowledge), by Francesco Borromini, under the direction of Cardinal Barberini. The façade, decorated with 'lesene' (columns incorporated into the wall), semi-circular arched windows, and the roof, supporting the cupola, which rises toward the spiral capital. The internal perspective of the church, built on the plan of a Greek cross, plays off of the concave-convex walls. On the main altar hangs a painting depicting the following Saints: Ives, Leo, Pantaleone, Luke, Catherine of Alexandria, in the glory of the saints (1661).
