Borromini's first work, this church is named for the four fountains, located
at the rounded crossroads of Via del Quirinale with Via Quattro Fontane,
and overlooking the following four landmarks: Porta Pia, and the Qirinale,
Esqualine and Trinità dei Monti obelisques.
The church's bi-level façade obscures an elliptical shaped interior.
The hidden jewel of this church is its cloister, rich with porticos and loggias.Access to the cloister gained through the church' custodian.
